Baylad and Prince Michael Move to Colorado

I know there are more than a few broken hearts now that Bayland and Prince Michael have moved to Colorado. Both headed to their new home on April 20th, 2012. Both geldings will be enjoying a view of the Rockies from their new home in the high plains. Congratulations Shelley, can’t wait to see how they mature. What a stunning pair!

If you missed out on this pair don’t worry we have a full sybling to Prince Michael due in the next month and Baylad’s full sister is due as well.

Spring Baby Chicks

Nothing says spring is here quite like picking up the baby chickens from our rural US Post Office. Many may not know it, but the mail carriers have been delivery live baby chicks for quite some time now and do a fine job. All 17 of our chicks arrived healthy and full of energy. They drink a lot of water and immediately start to look for food when placed in their warm brooder. Warning! the video will make you smile. We chose three standard sized chicken breeds to produce eggs for us on the farm. The yellow Buff Orpington, the Black and White Barred Plymouth Rocks, and a rare breed the red and brown Speckled Sussex. http://youtu.be/6wD4TI4u-Rs

Windy’s First Show

Windy entered his first show on St. Patrick’s Day in Springfield, MO. He took 2nd place in the In-hand Trail class out of 16 entries. He took everything in stride, you would have thought he was a pro instead of a newbie to showing. He just wasn’t sure what to think of the applause from the crowd! New Home for Blackjack and Gemini

On March 17th Blackjack and Gemini will begin their journey to a new home in Kansas. Both colts will finish some training with Ivan in Springfield, Missouri before making the final haul to their home on the range. The colts have big plans as a driving pair and we hope to see them in the next couple years at Equifest of Kansas. Maybe we will have enough Fells to put on a full breed demo! Congratulations Jan.

For those that missed out on the lovely pair, don’t worry we have several more ponies looking for new homes and 6 babies due in May and June. I will keep you posted.

Wildlife on the Farm

We have lots of deer on our Missouri farm. Hard to believe we hadn’t caught this on video before, but you would be surprised how rare it is to see two bucks fighting. EquiFest of Kansas is an annual 3 day exposition held in Wichita, Kansas. The exhibition is designed for horse owners as well as horse lovers. Come watch clinicians, breed showcases, and stallion reviews, demonstrations, lectures and shop for equine related products at the trade show. The event runs from Feb. 10 to Feb. 12, 2012 at the Kansas Pavilions in Wichita.

Kimberlake Gabriel will represent the farm at the Stallion Review Line-Up at the following times:

Magic’s Pony Portrait is Complete

Nancy Shaw finished Magic’s Pet Portrait and does it ever look great! Hard to believe the simple sketch turned into a living canvas. I love the 16 x 20 size but she will do smaller ones.
