BreyerFest 2018: Celebrating the Fell Pony Breed

Kimberlake Farm Fell Ponies proudly participated in the live horse demonstrations held during BreyerFest at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky, from July 13–15, 2018. Each day of the event featured dedicated demonstrations highlighting the rare and historic Fell Pony breed, offering thousands of attendees the opportunity to learn about these versatile and enduring ponies.

As an ambassador for the Fell Pony Society, Kimberlake Farm’s Fell pony mare “Misty” (Kimberlake Morning Glory) played a central role throughout the weekend. Misty delighted Breyer model fans of all ages by greeting visitors, posing for photos, and “signing” autographs alongside her Breyer model counterparts. Her calm temperament and engaging presence made her a favorite among festival-goers.

The Fell Pony breed holds a unique place in both equestrian and royal history. Queen Elizabeth II was known to ride her Fell pony Carltonlima Emma daily. This beloved royal pony served as the inspiration for the Breyer model bearing her name, further elevating awareness of the breed on an international stage.

BreyerFest 2018 provided a meaningful platform to showcase the Fell Pony’s rich heritage, versatility, and enduring legacy. Kimberlake Farm was honored to represent the breed, connect with fellow enthusiasts, and contribute to the continued preservation and promotion of Fell Ponies in North America and beyond.
